Έρωτας στο χιόνι
Πριν από χρόνια ο Αλέξανδρος Παπαδιαμάντης έγραφε ένα συγκλονιστικό διήγημα «Έρωτας στο Χιόνι» για ένα φανταστικό έρωτα, που δεν έρχεται όμως ποτέ. Και τελικά η έλλειψη της αγάπης φτάνει σαν χιόνι να παγώσει την καρδιά του.

Ωστόσο, κρατά όμως μέσα του πάντα την ελπίδα ότι το χιόνι θα λευκάνει και θα παγώσει τον κόσμο ολόκληρο και θα σταματήσει να πονά για αυτήν την ολοκληρωτική αποτυχία στη ζωή.

Είναι πολύ ενδιαφέρων ο τρόπος που ο Παπαδιαμάντης παρουσιάζει την αποτυχία στον έρωτα ως μια πλήρη αποτυχία στη ζωή. Ο ήρωας του παγώνει, γιατί δεν αξίζει ούτε ένα βλέμμα αγάπης, γιατί δεν τον ερωτεύτηκε κανείς. Αν δεν σε αγαπήσουν, αν δε σε ερωτευθούν μπορεί να πεθάνεις από την παγωνιά, όπως ο έρωτας στο διήγημα:

«Nα είχεν ο έρωτας σαΐτες!… να είχε βρόχια… να είχε φωτιές…

Nα τρυπούσε με τις σαΐτες του τα παραθύρια… να ζέσταινε τις καρδιές… να έστηνε τα βρόχια του απάνω στα χιόνια… «
Κι όμως ο έρωτας μπορεί να έρθει και να ζεστάνει τις καρδιές, να θερμάνει τα σώματα… Προσμονή στο χιόνι, όπως στη φωτογραφία, για τον έρωτα που περιμένουμε να έρθει, να φωτίσει τις ψυχές μας και να δώσει νόημα στις μέρες μας...
